FAQ
There are no hidden costs; prices are based on the actual running time:
- Up to 180 minutes: HUF 6,000 / cassette
- From 181 minutes: HUF 9,000 / cassette
- Short recordings (family content under 15 minutes): HUF 3,000 / cassette
The prices apply to both VHS and smaller camcorder tapes (e.g. Video8, Hi8, miniDV).
I'm not simply handing over a raw file. The price includes the complete post-production:
- Content cleanup: I remove unnecessary sections (such as old TV commercials, films and "snowy" blank sections). Only the important parts and genuine family events remain in the final material.
- Image enhancement: I perform the necessary digital corrections (improving colour, brightness and contrast) to make the recording look as good as possible.
- Stability: I use modern playback equipment to minimise unnecessary image jumping or shaking.
Yes, I preserve all types of audio and moving-image memories:
- Audio cassette: HUF 3,500 / piece (this includes the entire cassette, both sides A and B).
- 8mm / Super 8 film reels: HUF 900 / minute. These old, silent-film-style reels are processed using a precise frame-by-frame method.
I scan photographs in high resolution, making them suitable for digital sharing or even reprinting:
- Photo scanning: HUF 300 / piece.
- The price also includes digital restoration: I correct colours that have faded over time, improve contrast and digitally remove minor dust particles and surface imperfections.
Of course not. I handle all materials with the utmost care. After digitisation, you will receive your original cassettes, photographs and film reels back in exactly the same condition as when you handed them over.
You can choose from several options:
- Online gallery: I upload it to password-protected storage, where you can conveniently download it from anywhere.
- Storage device: I copy it to the USB flash drive or external hard drive you provide. (If you don't have one, you can also purchase a quality storage device from me.)
Of course! Many people send their memories to me by post or courier service from all over the country. Once the work is completed, I return the original materials and the finished digital files in the same secure way.
Before I start the work, I inspect all materials. If the tape is torn, it can often be salvaged using a special splicing technique. If I detect mould or another serious issue, I will always discuss the available options with you and any additional steps that may be required.
Memories are irreplaceable. Unlike a cheap home “digitisation cable”, I use professional equipment, studio software and several years of experience. I treat your family recordings as if they were my own – with care and respect.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me! There are no stupid questions, only memories waiting to be preserved.
